We are so glad you have found us!

Before we go over how this works, you need to be sure your fibers meet our guidelines for a batch.

A batch of fiber for yarn consists of:

15 – 450 pounds of sheep’s wool

10 – 450 pounds of Alpaca or mohair

10  - 450 pounds of exotic fiber. We have equipment that can process qiviut, bison, angora bunny, and other exotic fibers. Please contact us so we can do a  small test batch to determine if we are capable of making the type of yarn you desire with your fiber before you send us your full order. We do not have a dehairer.

We can divide your batch by color or by fleece as long as the fleece or the color run weighs at least 7 lbs.

A batch of fiber for roving consists of:

3 – 450 pounds of sheep's wool

3 – 450 pounds of Alpaca or mohair

3 – 450 pounds of exotic fiber.

A batch of fiber for felt or felted items consists of: 1 – 450 pounds.

If we are felting alpaca we must do a 50% blend with wool.

Our minimum incoming weight for yarn is 15 pounds and our maximum incoming weight is 450 pounds per batch. If you have more than 450 pounds needing processing, we will have to schedule it as a separate batch. Once your first batch is paid for and collected, we will start on your second batch. We can do as many batches as we need to to get through your wool.

Minimum incoming weight for roving is 3 pounds.

Minimum incoming weight for felt is 1 pound.

We can blend fibers with your base fibers, You can use the fiber to be

blended as part of your minimum weight. No more than 50% blending

please.

Fibers will not be accepted early, if fiber is brought before the scheduled date there will be a per-month storage fee. We have very finite storage space.

Here is what needs to be done to get you fibers processed:

1. Please fill out the reservation form at the bottom of the page.

2. If you are a new customer, we will email you a customer agreement form which you need to read and sign saying you agree to the terms, then email it back to us.

3. We will contact you and give you an approximate month we will process

your fibers.

4. DO NOT SEND YOUR FIBERS YET. When your time comes, we will

email you, send our address and bag tags, and let you know it is time to

send in your fibers.

5. After we contact you, you will have three weeks to mail your fibers to us

or drop them off at the mill in person.

6. All fibers must be bagged. Were prefer clear plastic bags. Opaque plastic bags are acceptable. These bags should be put into boxes if shipping.

7. Please include a bag tag in each bag of fiber that you send us. (We will send bag tags to you when we notify you that it is time to send your fibers.)

8. If including blending fiber, please put that fiber in its own bag then place

it in with the base fiber.

9. If you want the mill to provide the blending fiber, please indicate that on

the form. See pricing section for the cost of mill blending fiber.

10. If dropping off in person, please text or call (564) 206-5453 or email at

bunnyhillmill@gmail.com to set up a time for the drop off.

11. Washing fees will be charged before processing begins. Washing is

$10.50 per lb incoming weight for fine or exotic fibers and $9.00 per lb incoming weight for medium  and course fibers. Please have fibers skirted before you send

them in. The better skirted and prepared your fibers are, the better your

return in yarn or felt will be when you pick up your order.

12. Washing fees need to be paid before we can begin your order.

Rabbit Hill Wool Mill has the right to refuse to process any fibers

that it deems is unsuitable for processing. If deemed unsuitable,

we will contact you. We can mail them to you at your expense,

you can pick them up within a week of refusal, or we can donate

them to a local pellet producer to make into soil amendment

pellets.
